Just as we were starting to see court cases being heard once again in downtown Graham, criminal courts have once again been canceled at the JB Allen courthouse due to confirmed cases of the coronavirus among the staff. No criminal cases will be heard today, Thursday or Friday. This will not affect civil court operations, since those are not usually held in the JB Allen Courthouse.
On a side note, there are now apparently more than 70 confirmed cases reported at the Alamance County jail, which is adjacent to the courthouse. County wide, the Alamance County Health Department says right now they have 337 confirmed cases in isolation, with 6 of those bad enough to be in the hospital. The Health Department also says here have been 240 deaths in Alamance County related in some way to the virus since March 20th of last year.
