Burlington Considers Postponing or Eliminating Primary Election This year

Some state officials say we should probably postpone our primary elections this year. They say it's still not safe for people to go to the voting booth. You might remember the same argument was used in the last election, while people were jammed cheek to jowl at Lowes and WalMart, they decided it was not safe to be in line to vote. The Burlington City Council is considering postponing the primary, or possibly even eliminating it altogether this year. Burlington Mayor Ian Baltutis has told the City Council he thinks they should follow the state lead, Baltutis of course is up for re-election this year. He has even suggested they should eliminate the primary altogether.
