A couple of local activist groups have now filed suit against the Graham Police Department. They say hiring a former Greensboro officer who was fired for shooting at the car of an escaping suspect is putting minorities at risk in Alamance County. On the face of it, that would seem curious, but the real complaint is that officer Doug Strader was one of 8 Greensboro officers investigated back in 2018, after a black suspect died while in police custody. All of those officers were cleared of any wrong-doing. Graham Police spokesmen say Strader is being treated like any other rookie cop, and is undergoing training.
